Association for Manufacturing Excellence (AME, US)
This site is run by the US Association for Manufacturing Excellence (AME). They run programmes for their members to help their manufacturers implement the best current manufacturing practice. The website is extensive and recommends sources of information on all aspects of lean operation. There are 6,000 manufacturing members who learn more profitable ways of operating from each other. The message spreads.
Every autumn they run what is arguably the best manufacturing conference in the world. You visit world class manufacturers. You hear and see how they’ve become so. It’s not rocket science - you can learn how to do it in your own company. See our Events page for more details.
Delegates often bring back how to reduce their operating costs by hundreds of thousands of pounds and easily recover the investment. You’ll be infected by their huge enthusiasm for what they’ve learned. Once they’ve attended, they want to visit every year.
